Hello to all my crafty friends and family! Thanks for coming by today! Grab a glass of tea (I brewed some fresh just before lunch) and take a look at the box I altered for my oldest sister, Bev, for her birthday. I gave it to her today and by the time she left she already had 2 places in mind to put it! I started with a little wooden box I picked up at J's, and painted the parts I wan't going to cover with paper, using a aint from my stash. Then I used this neat paper from Graphic45 to cover the outside. I thought it was perfect for this project! The old looking ads are actually off the other side of the paper! I used modge podge to put all my papers down, attach the ads, and then gave the whole thng another coat of mode podge to kind of give it a protective layer. Did the same thing on the inside of the box, using an October Afternoon paper. The flower on top of the box is one I made myelf! My good friend Kathy taught us how to make them at my crop in Sept. (Thank-you Kathy!)
The paper bag card I made for her is the first one like that I have made. For a swap I am in we are to make one for our partner, so I decided to make Bev one for my practice one! I thought it turned out pretty good! The images are Tilda's colored with copic markers on XPress-it cardstock. I used a little bit of stickles on the one on front. The papers are all from a DCWV Christmas stack I had in my stash. I used a CherryLynn die with my Vagabond to cut the snowflakes. I love how detailed those dies are and how well they cut! The rest of the stamps (sayings) are all from my stash. Oh, and I used my CTMH Dutch Blue ink pad for edging my tags and papers.
I hope Bev liked them!!
Thanks for stopping by todayand have a 'Scrappy Day'!
