FROSTED Christmas Cards

Here are some sample cards I have made with the FROSTED paper pack from Close To My Heart.  I still have some more in mind I want to make, but this is my start!!

It has been cloudy here for a few days so my pictures didn't turn out real good as far as the color goes.  They are a lot prettier in person!  What do you think of the cards?  Check back soon as there will be more done soon....I hope!

More 'SPARKLE AND SHINE'

Hello my crafty friends!  Thanks for stopping by today!  The tea is on so grab a cup and relax!
Today I am going to show you some of the Christmas cards I have been making using Close To My Heart's SPARKLE AND SHINE papers.  These papers are so much fun and  I have really been enjoying making my cards with them.  I am also having a Chrstmas Card Workshop on Nov. 17 and those attending get to choose from the Sparkle and Shine papers or the Frosted papers.  (for more information on the workshop, give me a shout!)  I have to stop playing with this paper for a while now and make some sample cards using the Frosted!!  Anyhow, back to these cards.....I have used the SANTA CLAUS stamp set (which I love!), the TRIM THE TREE set, and CHRISTMAS VILLAGE.   Let me know what you think of the cards!

The idea to have the Santa tumbling came from one of the other CTMH consultants, I can't remember who or I would give credit to her!
Thanks for stopping by, stay as long as you would like and check back in soon to see the cards I am working on using the Frosted papers!   Please feed my fish  over there >>>>> as they get hungry if I haven't stopped in!
Happy Craftin!

Starting on Christmas

Hello!  it's a chilly morning here, so grab a cup of hot tea and take a look at a couple things I have made lately!  First one is a card I did for a group of ladies I was ask to give a small lesson to last week.  Some were very experienced while others had never made a paper anything before!  They were fun though and each  made a card like this, adding their own touches to it. All their cards turned out real cute!
We used a CTMH cards and envelopes for the bases.  The striped paper, washi tape, and stamp are from our new FROM THE HEART HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE which goes live tomorrow!  We also used Ruby and Juniper cardstock and Ruby Ink .   The Bakers Twine is from the Harvest Assortment  and we used some Opaques Licorice Adhesive Gems on top.  A quick and simple card to send to friends for Christmas!
The next picture is a Christmas tree I made!  Everything on it (papers and embellishments) are from our Holiday Gift Guide.  Mine is a little lop-sided and I took the picture of the wrong side, but I am sure you can get the idea!

Be sure to check my web site beginning tomorrow (Oct. 15) for a look at our Holiday Gift Guide!  There is also a fantastic special that is going along with it...you can pick out one free 'star' item in the gift guide for every $100 you spend on a single order between now and the end of the year!! (must be current product from our Gift Guide and/or Autumn Winter 2013 Idea Book)
www.scrappinwithj.ctmh.com
Have you started your holiday crafting yet?  I hope you have because Christmas will be here before we know it!
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you leave me a comment, feed my fish, and come back soon!!
Happy Craftin!

A winter layout using FROSTED

Hello!  Nice to see you drop by, grab some tea and check out the layout I am showing you today.  I made it using Close To My Heart products, which I will list as we go along, including a link to my website where you can see the product or even order it if you would like to!  Here is the layout:
I used our new Cricut  ARTBOOKING cartridge to cut out the title and the snowflakes.  That cartridge is awesome, you will be seeing lots of things I make with it!  The paper I used is from the FROSTED collection, and I used our Champagne, Slate, and Crystal Blue cardstocks.    The ink is SLATE.  Those cute little Penguins come from one of our new Hostess Rewards Stamp Sets, called WINTRY WISHES.  I can't show you a picture of it because the Hostess Rewards sets aren't on my website.  Sorry.  It can be purchased using Hostess Rewards for only $8!  I covered the snowflakes with a light coat of STARDUST Glitz Glitter Gel.  You can't tell it very good in the picture but it gives them a glittery look!  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of the layout!!  And be sure to stop back soon!
Happy Crafting!

September StampOf The Month card

Hello!  Welcome to my little craftin corner!  Sorry I haven't posted much lately, I have been pretty busy.  Tonight though, I am posting a card I made using out September Stamp Of The Month.  It is a 2 stamp set and will work great for Autumn and Christmas/Winter.  The name of the set is Poster Tidings and you can see it HERE.
I used the new SARITA paper collection and Sunset and Outdoor Denim cardstocks and inks.  Sarita has such pretty colors in it and I think they work well for Autumn!  Keep an eye out for me to post pics of using the other stamp in the set.  I haven't made anything with it yet but will soon.  Remember, the Stamp Of The Month is only available for one month (this one is Septembers) and is $5 with a qualifying $50 purchase.  Suggested retail for it is $17.95
If you would like to place an order and purchase this stamp set (or the paper packet), visit my website at www.scrappinwithj.ctmh.com or contact me!
Thanks for stopping in, and come back soon as I have more things made to post pictures of!

Card Workshop and Sneak Peek!

Hello!  Thanks for coming by my blog today.  It is plenty hot out here in Illinois, so grab a big glass of tea and sit down for a while!  Browse around and be sure to leave me some comments so I know who has been by to visit!
First thing I want to show you today is one of Close To My Heart's new items, the Designed Décor Colonial White Frame.  This frame will be available to order beginning August 1 and sells for $26.95  The interior dimensions of the frame are 12x13 1/2 inches.  I used KRAFT CARDSTOCK for the paper on mine.  I liked the way it goes with the chicken wire back!!

I used the PENNANT ALPHABET stamp set.  I love that set, but it is being retired, so if you want one, you might want to be getting it ordered before the end of July!  I also used our MINI CLOTHES PINS to hang everything on the frame.  Not permanently attaching them, I can change my frame with the seasons or as I get new pictures I want to use instead of these!  A couple of the mats I used the new scallop border punch.  It will be avail. on my website beginning Aug. 1 too!    So, what do you think of our new frame?  Don't you just love it?

I have the details worked out for my first Card Workshop!  It will be held on Saturday, August 17 and again on Sunday, August 18.  Please let me know by August 9 if you would like to attend (and which day)!  At the workshop we will make 1 each of 6 different cards, using 1 sheet of FOR ALWAYS B&T DUO.  The cards are 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches.  Here is a picture of the finished cards:

Cost of the workshop is $10 and includes everything you will need to create these cards (using my inks and stamps).  Contact me to sign up for the workshop before Aug 9 so I will have enough supplies on hand, and let me know if you have any questions!

I've got the new Cricut ARTBOOKING cartridge....LOVE IT!!!  Remember, if you host a GATHERING and your sales total at least $250, you can get the cartridge for HALF PRICE!!

I am trying to get a date set to hold an Idea Book Open House.  Watch for more information coming soon on that!!
Thanks for stopping in today, leave me a comment and be sure to contact me to sign up for the Card Workshop!!
Happy Scrappin!

CTMH's new ARTBOOKING Cricut Cartridge

Hello everyone!  Thanks for stopping in today.  Grab a glass of tea and pull up a chair!  Today I want to tell you about Close To My Hearts new Cricut cartridge called ARTBOOKING!  This cartridge is awesome!  It has complete layouts you can cut on your cricut and put together!!  And you set your size at 11" and ALL the pieces will cut at the right size for the layout!  How easy does that sound!
There are also overlays, which will be great for cards or layouts either one.  Some are seasonal and some are just decorative.  The cartridge has a font too, as well as frames and lots of things to use as embellishments on your cards and layouts.  Oh, and Mini Albums....there are some really neat mini albums you can make with it too!!
Probably hadn't mentioned yet, but like our other 2 cartridges, this one comes with 3 stamp sets and 3 sheets of chipboard shapes that co-ordinate with the cuts on the cartridge.  Each tells what size to set your dial on to cut the shape for a perfect fit with the stamp or chipboard.  Here is a close up of the stamp sets:
They can all 3 be used with so many things!  I can't wait to try heat embossing the doily looking one!
Here are a few pictures of pages from the handbook, just to give you a better idea of how they have done it...
See how each element is on the same page to do this?  This is 2 pages for the 6x7 summer mini album you can make with the cartridge.  And here is a 2 page layout:
Here are some of the borders you can cut....bet I forgot to mention there are borders on the cartridge too!
And frames....
and overlays....
Soooo many things you can do with this cartridge, whether you are a scrapbooker, a cardmaker, or just like doing things with papercrafting!  The cartridge bundle (cartridge, 3 stamp sets and 3 sheets of chipboard shapes) is $99 (plus tax and shipping) and will be available to order beginning August 1.  You can get this bundle for half price by hosting a CTMH gathering (Online or in Home) and having sales that total at least $250.  Plus you would still get $40 worth of free product!  To host a gathering, contact me today and we will 'get the party started'!  If you don't want to host a gathering, the cartridge can be ordered online (www.scrappinwithj.ctmh.com)  beginning August 1, or through me.
What do you think of this new cartridge?
Thanks for stopping by.  Please feed my fish before you leave, and I love reading your comments you leave!
See you soon!
Happy Crafting,
Janice

Journals for the kids

Hello!!
I finished altering some journals for my grandkids today.  I thought maybe they could write about their summer adventures in them.  On the ones for the two boys I used the LATER SK8Rpaper packet and the Workshop On The Go stamp set.  On Kaitlyn's I used the CLAIRE paper packet and the GIRL'S ROCK stamp set.  I used OUTDOOR DENIM INK on both of them.  The kids are 6 and 8 years old so I didn't want to put a lot of layers on the outside of the journals, knowing they will probably get tossed around a lot!  I hope the kids like their new journals and use them.

Some of the retiring product that was recently announced is selling out fast, so if there is anything you want, place your order soon!  My shopping website is:  www.scrappinwithj.ctmh.com.  If you place an order online please click to JOIN the open online party I have!
Thanks for stopping by today, leave me some comments so I know you were here, and please feed the fish on your way out!  Hope to see you again soon.

CTMH Star/Buzz and Bumble

Hello!  I just realized I have never posted my Star on my blog so am going to show it to you now.  If you have never been here before, grab a cup of tea and take a look around.  Feel free to become a follower and come back often!!
This project uses the Close To My Heart My Creations Star.  It is white chipboard and really fun to work with!  I used the Buzz and Bumble paper pack to cover mine.  Modge Podge for the adhesive.  CTMH has a template for cutting the triangles to cover the star, which helps a lot!  I handmade the flower to put in the center.  The strips that look like skinny brown ribbon are actually strips of paper I cut!  If you would like to make a Star of your own, you can order one on my website:  www.scrappinwithj.ctmh.com
Thanks for coming by, and I hope you will stop back soon!  Let me know what you think of my Star!

Grandma/CTMH Frame

Hello!  Welcome to my blog today!  Thanks for stopping in, I hope you take the time to browse around and please, feed my fish!
Today I am showing you a frame I did.   I used the Close To My Heart My Creations Bracket Frame (HERE).  I have had this for a while and just didn't know what I wanted to do with it, but a few days ago I decided it was the perfect place to put a picture of my Grandmother!  I wanted a vintage look with the picture, so  I chose the Scholastic Paper Packet (HERE).    I think it was a perfect choice!  The solid cardstock is COCOA.  I used modge podge to adhere the paper to the frame.  For everything else I used Liquid Glass and my Tombow runner.  I used CHOCOLATE ink for inking my edges on the mats and tag.

The frame is kind of like a shadow box.  Maybe you can get an idea of that from this picture:

The trim around the frame is our Colonial White Rosette Ribbon (HERE).  Another perfect thing for my vintage look!  I have layered it on top of the Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon (HERE) that I colored with my Chocolate ink pad (easy peasy!).  It made the Rosette Ribbon POP a little more doing it over the darker ribbon.
I made the tag with more paper from the same Scholastic paper packet, inking around the edges and sanding them a little bit.  The smaller tag will pull out, revealing my grandmother's name!  I used the LOVE DOILY stamp (HERE) which I heat embossed with our embossing powder.  (Love doing that with this doily stamp!)  The flower I handmade using yet another paper from the Scholastic paper pack.  The SPARKLES FLOURISH (HERE) I colored with a brown copic marker.  Those can easily be colored any color with an alcohol marker!
That's it for today.  Thanks again for stopping in, and I hope you come back again soon!
If you see any products here you would like for yourself, they can be ordered on my website:

Happy Craftin!

More cards

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Grab a glass of tea and check out a couple of cards I made recently!
This first one is a Thank-you card that I have done some paper quilting on.  (For those who don't know, I have made a few fabric quilts in the past)  I used paper from the Close To My Heart CHANTILLY paper packet which I think is very 'spring-y'!  I also used Cotton Candy cardstock and in.  Two stamp sets were used, GIRL'S ROCK for the little flower, and FOR A FRIEND for the sentiment.  Doing the little quilt block was lots of fun, and no sewing was required!!

My next card uses the BUZZ AND BUMBLE paper packet and Sunset, Cocoa, and Champaigne cardstocks.  Cocoa and Goldrush inks.  The flower is made with BURLAP RIBBON.  I rubbed COLOR READY SEAM BINDING RIBBON with my Sunset ink pad to color it the pretty orange and was real happy with how it turned out.  The sentiment is from the FLORAL HAPPINESS stamp set, which happens to be our March Stamp of the Month.  You can get this 16 piece stamp set for only $5 with a $50 order during the month of March!  Check it out!

All of these products and more are available in our Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book or online at my website HEREPlease share it with your friends too!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked my cards.  I have one more I made but can't post it yet because it is on it's way west and I don't want them to see it on here before they get it!!
Come back soon and HAPPY CRAFTING!

CTMH Projects

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by today!  I have to tell you, before I continue, if you plan to come to my CTMH Open House this Sunday (Feb. 24, 2-4 pm at my house) you may not want to look at the pics on this post! It is some of the things I have made to show at my open house!!  But, if you don't care if you see them ahead, then feel free to look at the pictures!!
OK, with that said....the first thing I want to show you is a card I made.  I will try to link the CTMH products in the post that I used.  My LOVE card is made using Black, White and Twilight cardstock.   The black and white print squares are our new For Always Textiles.  Two of our Spring/Summer collections have the textile packs available.  Each pack comes with 3 different prints.  The letters for the word LOVE are cut on the cricut using the Art Philosophy catridge.    Edges are inked with Twilight.  I used Sparkle Flourishes on the bottom.  The sentiment on the inside of the card is from one of the stamp sets that comes with the Art Philosophy cartridge.

The next project is the 5x7 Display Tray.  It is black and is a lot of fun to work with!!  These would make excellent gifts!   I used the Buzz and Bumble paper pack.  It is,  I think, my favorite of the current B&T paper packs!  Some of the things I used on this project are: Burlap Ribbon, cocoa stamp pad, Wooden Badge Buttons (which I inked with the cocoa stamp pad!), and the February Stamp of the Month Home Sweet Home.  I used the cricut Art philosophy cartridge for the flowers, and the Artiste cartridge for the zig zag and the leafy stem.

My last project is another card I made.  For this one I used the Claire Paper Packet, and some Champagne cardstock.  The inks I used are Black and Outdoor Denim.  The little girl I made using the Paper Doll stamp set.  I stamped her clothes on colored cardstock and cut them all out.  I added a little bit of Liquid Glass to the glass of lemonade!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you saw something you liked while here!  Be sure to go to my CTMH website and check out all the neat things in our Idea Book!  www.scrappinwithj.ctmh.com
Come back real soon!  (and leave me some comments before you go and tell me what you think of my projects!)
